The process herein described relates to the permit process for application proposals for construction of new on-site sewage disposal systems. This process does not apply to an application to repair, replace or alter an existing on-site sewage disposal system.

A. Application and review fees are received from a certified designer or engineer. A review is conducted in accordance with sewage disposal/water supply requirements and department procedures.

B. Issuance of the decision to approve or disapprove an application results in either an approved application or a denial. An approved application received after October 31, 2008, is valid for two years and can be renewed for an additional two-year period, with written concurrence from the system designer, review and approval from the Snohomish Health District (SHD) and payment of a renewal fee.
