The name of the organization is the Snohomish Health District and the same was originally established by resolution of Snohomish County Board of County Commissioners on November 24, 1958, with an effective date of January 1, 1959. The organization is governed by the Snohomish Health District’s Board of Health and its territorial jurisdiction is determined pursuant to the territories of its members, which consist of the County of Snohomish and all cities and towns within Snohomish County.

This Charter provides the basic framework under which the Board of Directors of the Snohomish Health District shall govern this independent municipal corporation, with all provisions being subject to then applicable law.
